SUMMARY OF MODULE 3:
A romantic relationship begins when you have both fully informed each other about who you are, what you expect, and what you offer in return. Based on this, you both choose to become committed.
A commitment based on informed choice is more likely to meet expectations and lead to a happy relationship.
Without informed choice any new 'new information' can damage trust because it was unexpected and never part of the initial commitment.
“Love is a single soul inhabiting two bodies”, Aristotle, but that works best if you both truly know and choose each other ..: 😊.

Case study 2: ‘LOVE CONQUERS ALL’
Eva fell head over heels for John, who was a good looking and slightly older man she knew from school. Eva believed in the idea that “love conquers all”, so she never really inquired into what Adam’s beliefs in life were. She married Adam even though her parents did not support her in this decision. Some of their differences were: Eva’s father was a judge, while John’s was raised without a strong belief in the law. Eva was from a Catholic background, while John was an atheist. Eva’s grandparents had gone to university and Eva also had that ambition, while John did not care for school. Eva assumed that in relationship forming you should honestly inform each other, while John expected that relationship forming is all about presenting yourself as best as you can. Eva assumed that any relationship is monogamous as her own parents were monogamous; while John expected the opposite as both his parents had extramarital affairs. After their honeymoon Eva and John bought a house and lived under one roof for the first time. After three months together Eva’s feelings of love started to fade. She was now with John on a daily basis, and started to see a different side of John. When she found out that John was having an affair at work, she realized her mistake. Having learned her lesson, she decided not to enter into a relationship unless the person was truly compatible. She was lucky to meet Richard. Richard was in many ways similar to Eva. They formed a happy couple after having thoroughly checked their mutual compatibility, everything from family planning to domestic chores, and from communication styles to in-laws.
